Calling all animal lovers

Would you love to make a very real difference to the precarious lives of vulnerable kittens in need?

The Cat Protection Society is now recruiting for volunteer foster carers for this coming kitten season who can help us look after neonatal kittens and kittens not old or well enough to be available for adoption.

The job description is simple: to provide these kittens with nourishment, love, affection, and a warm, safe place to grow, playing a crucial role in helping them grow and thrive with the hope they can be available for adoption into a forever home.

You will need to live local to our Greensborough Shelter and be willing to bring your foster kittens in for regular Veterinary and Foster check-ups. In exchange, you will receive:

  • An endless supply of cuddles and affection
  • The unique opportunity to watch beautiful kittens grow and thrive
  • The countless mental and physical health benefits that come from spending time in the presence of a cat
  • And the warm and fuzzy feel-good factor knowing you have made a difference in the life of kittens in need

Let us know if this sounds like you:

  • You have a caring, nurturing personality
  • You are passionate about animal welfare
  • You live no further than a 20minute drive from our Greensborough Shelter
  • You are not currently working or are working from home
  • Any other pets you have at home are up to date with their vaccinations and are desexed (this just ensures your pets are protected)
  • You can commit to assisting CPSV across the Christmas / New Year and Summer period.
  • You’re excited to work alongside Victoria’s Largest Shelter dedicated just to cats to make a REAL difference in the lives of kittens in need

 We will provide:

  • Comprehensive face-to-face training for neonatal and kitten foster carers
  • Ongoing training and support throughout your foster care journey including around the clock access to our dedicated Foster Care team
  • Everything your kitten/s will need for home including bedding, bowls, toys, and litter
  • All food and medication your kitten/s may require
  • Veterinary care

All you need to provide is the nurturing, safe home.
