Introducing the brave and incredible Rolf, a gentleman who’s proven time and again that resilience goes hand in hand with love. Having come to us as a stray, Rolf faced a series of medical issues that could have dampened any spirit. After many treatments, he became almost a fixture of our veterinary clinic, winning over the hearts of all who helped him on his path to recovery.
Rolf is a testament to what love, care, and the right environment can achieve. Despite suffering from ear infections, skin conditions, gastrointestinal issues and requiring significant dental work, Rolf never let these hurdles define him. Through all this, Rolf’s spirit never wavered, affirming his confidence in the healing process.
Recently, Rolf has been basking in the warmth and care of a foster home where he’s been relaxing and letting his true personality shine through. He’s now ready to meet potential new family members to share his journey with. His fortitude and enduring charm make him a perfect companion. As Rolf is FIV+, he will need a loving and understanding family who can provide indoor living and regular veterinary check-ups to ensure he continues to thrive.
From his Foster Home
Rolf is a real quirky character that loves his food and will purr for an hour after he eats to show his gratitude. He can be cheeky and play a little rough unknowingly with his claws out, but thankfully his bites are futile since he has no more teeth.
Rolf likes small intervals of pats, but for the most part likes all 4 paws on the ground. He will sleep on the bed with you and curl up next to you on the colder nights but due to his dermatology issues he does leave a wake of dried skin.
He now toilets well since his diet has been determined to be Royal Canin Gastrointestinal Hairball wet and dry kibble that is soaked for 10 minutes prior to eating so his gums can cope with the density. With much trial and error at CPS, Rolf likes litter trays with minimal litter in them as he tends to push all the litter to 1 corner and do his business on the bare plastic. This does lead to the litter trays being empties and reloaded more frequently.
In a routine quiet home, Rolf would make a great family member for someone who’s cat savvy and can keep up with his medical, food and stooling needs.
