Welcome Einstein, an ever so handsome feline that truly stands out from the crowd in his own unique way. His low maintenance nature will seamlessly fit into your household, bringing a blend of sweetness and chill vibes.
Einstein’s laid-back personality does not stop him from being an ever-curious explorer, especially when it comes to cardboard boxes. Be ready to have a couple of those spare Amazon delivery boxes around, as he enjoys retreating to them, turning them into his personal playground.
While he is naturally independent, Einstein cherishes being in your company. In fact, he makes an excellent bedtime companion, enjoying spending the night sleeping quietly by your side. When it’s time to switch off from the world, Einstein makes the transition to relaxation mode in the blink of an eye.
Due to minor neurological quirks, Einstein needs to be an indoor-only cat for his own safety.
With Einstein, you get a furry companion who is not only handsome but is also full of personality. He’s decidedly brilliant (it’s in the name, after all), and can’t wait to share his sweet, chilled demeanor with a wonderful new family. With his minimal needs and loads of love to give, Einstein is ready to become the tranquil, adorable center of your household.
From his foster home
-He’s very low-maintenance, sweet and pretty chill. He does bite and I haven’t managed to figure out if it’s related to a particular trigger. He hasn’t caused any bleeds. When he bites, he tends to hold on. If he misses, he might try to bite again. The kickeroo is the most effective toy at redirecting his attention.
-Compared to other cats I’ve fostered, his spatial awareness/perception/balance doesn’t seem as good. He came close to falling off the edge of a bed/sofa several times and did fall off once, and does get a bit wobbly when trying to balance. It’s not that bad; if a normal cat is 10/10 for those characteristics, I’d say he’s at 8.
-Doesn’t seem to like having his sides pat or getting chin scratches.
-It might take him time to learn what some objects are. He appeared a bit confused by the litter tray (I use a different litter to CPS) and started playing with the litter. This behaviour has stopped now.
-I put his food bowl on a placemat and he was confused by it. Walked around it and was unsure if he could step on the placemat. Once he becomes familiar with an item, he’s completely fine.
-He has occasionally sat down then stood up and would do this several times before finally sitting.
-Unsure whether he has trouble controlling his claws or if they’re long, but they did catch on my clothes and other fabrics a lot. He’s generally quite relaxed so I was able to cut them myself.
Einstein came into CPS as a stray with an unknown history. He is a lovely sweet boy with a few behavioural/neurological quirks and physical traits that are unique to him.
He has a fairly large dome shaped head and we suspect that this is likely to be the cause of some of the odd behaviours that he has exhibited during his stay with us and in foster care. He has shown signs that he has some difficulty with depth perception and tracking objects. However, this does not deter him from playing, albeit being a bit slower to catch/chase toys. He is also one to like lying on the edges of places to sleep (ie couches) and may occasionally roll off them. He can have moments of spaciness and a slightly odd gait. However, none of this appears to impact his general welfare and well being.
Einstein also has a slightly sunken in right eye. This can, on occasion, result in the lower eyelid of his right eye rolling in (entropian), causing some irritation. This has been managed with medications to reduce infection and swelling. However, if the incidence of this occurring is frequent, then entropian surgery can be performed.
