Milo and Mia’s introduction:

We are seeking a foster home for Milo and Mia, a bonded pair of adult male cats who have been in our care since February. These two are looking for a temporary home for a few months where they can build up their confidence and feel safe in a relaxed and patient environment.

Gender: Both males
Bonded Pair: Must be fostered together
Temperament: Fearful with interactions, but very food motivated

Foster Care Requirements:

1. Environment:
• Provide a quiet, calm, and safe space for Milo and Mia to help them adjust to their new surroundings.
• Ensure they have access to comfortable resting areas where they can retreat and feel secure.
• If other pets are present, introduce them slowly and monitor interactions to ensure Milo and Mia feel safe.
2. Diet and Nutrition:
• Feed Milo and Mia only the food provided to you by CPS
• Utilize their food motivation to build trust and encourage positive interactions.
• Ensure they have access to fresh water at all times.
3. Health and Wellness:
• Observe Milo and Mia for any signs of stress or health issues.
• Maintain clean litter boxes and monitor their usage for any signs of problems.
• Be prepared to administer any medications or special dietary needs as directed by the shelter.
4. Behavioural Monitoring:
• Keep note of Milo and Mia’s behaviour and any notable changes.
• Provide regular, gentle social interaction to help them feel safe and secure.
• Engage in gentle play and provide enrichment activities to encourage confidence building.
5. Communication:
• Maintain regular contact with the shelter to provide updates on Milo and Mia’s progress.
• Report any concerns or notable changes immediately to the shelter staff.
