Community Cat Crusader

Are you a primary or secondary school or community group looking to offer your students a fun and engaging real-world learning experience that also benefits the local community?

The Cat Protection Society of Victoria believes that education is the key to creating lasting change. We aim to help young people develop responsible and caring behaviour towards cats, which will have a long-term impact on cat welfare in Victoria.

Introducing our Community Cat Crusader Program: a program designed to educate students about cats as companion animals and the importance of responsible cat ownership. The Program is open to primary and secondary schools, and other children’s groups / clubs such as Scouts etc. Victoria wide and can be completed any time throughout the school year that suits curriculum / the classroom.

As part of our Community Cat Crusader Program, we provide access to free online resources which are designed for educators or students. These resources help to provide young people with the knowledge and understanding of the role of cats as companion animals and what it means to be a responsible cat owner.

Schools and groups are also able to request for a representative from The Cat Protection Society of Victoria to visit and chat with participating students* or alternatively book an excursion to The Cat Protection Society of Victoria to compliment this learning.

Students are encouraged to extend their learning Community Cat Crusader Program by creating  promotional material based on their learning. This can be approached individually or as a group project, and can be integrated into classroom activities, extracurricular programs, or clubs.

Join the Cat Crusaders and help us to make a positive impact on cat welfare while providing your students with an enriching educational experience!
